More activists joining through the mountains

Its already over. After two days of existence, a new Palestinian village called Bab Al Shams (title of an epic novel by Elias Khoury), established by Palestinian activists as a response to the declaration of the Israeli governement to establish new settlements in this highly strategic area was violently evicted by hundreds of special forces in the early hours of January 13.
But the response has been overwhelming. On social media and even mainstream media, everyone was talking about this new initiative as being highly creative and inspiring. Palestinians would not wait for ever endless negociations, they will also create facts on the ground, reclaim lands that is theirs in a very concrete way and by doing so will reveal the true face of Israel: an agressive colonial power, endlessly hungry for more lands. How one can justify that the Palestinians cannot establish a village on their own lands?
Bab Al Shams was also inspiring because it brings together Palestinians from various part of the West Bank, and it was organized in such a way that the occupyiers was totally taken by surprise, as early morning on the 11th, several tents were erected very rapidly on this location which was only known in advance by a few. Everybody was talking about a camp in "Jericho" area. Despite the fact that Israel rapidly closed off the main roads leading to the location, activists kept coming, walking through the mountains to reach it. Dozens stayed during the freezing night.
The eviction does not end the Bab Al Shams experience, and I am pretty sure that soon Bab Al Shams II will rise.

C'est déjà terminé. Après deux jours d'existence, le nouveau village palestinien appelé "Bab Al Shams" ( Les portes du soleil; titre d'un roman épique d'Elias Khoury), créé par des activistes palestiniens en réponse à la déclaration du Gouvernement israélien de son intention d'établir de nouvelles colonies dans cette zone hautement stratégique entre Jérusalem Est et la colonie de Male Adumim a été violemment vidé des activistes par des centaines de membres des forces spéciales israeliennes; au petit matin du 13 Janvier.
Mais la réponse a été extraordinaire. Que ce soient dans les médias sociaux ou même les médias généralistes, tout le monde parlait de cette nouvelle initiative, forte, créative et source d'inspiration. Les Palestiniens sont las d'attendre quelque chose des négociations interminables, ils entendent aussi créer désormais des faits sur le terrain, récupérer des terres qui est la leur d'une manière très concrète et, ce faisant, évélent le vrai visage d'Israël: une puissance coloniale agressive, sans cesse avide de plus de terres. Comment en effet justifier que les Palestiniens ne puissent pas établir un village sur leur propres terres?
Bab Al Shams a également été source d'inspiration, car cette initiative a réuni des Palestiniens de différentes parties de la Cisjordanie, et elle a été organisée de telle manière que la puissance occupante a été totalement prisz par surprise. Aux aurores; le matin du 11 janvier; plusieurs tentes ont été érigées très rapidement sur cet endroit qui n'était connu à l'avance que par quelques-uns. Tout le monde parlait auparavant d'un camp dans la zone de "Jericho". Malgré le fait qu'Israël ait rapidement fermé toutes les routes principales menant au village, les activistes ont continué à arriver le 11 et le 12, en marchant à travers les montagnes pour y parvenir. Des dizaines sont restés pendant la nuit malgré le froid glacial.
Alors; l'expulsion brutale ne termine pas l'experience de Bab Al Shams , et je suis sûre que bientôt Bab Al Shams II va voir le jour.
